Hello Everyone,
The download area that is “In Rainbows” will be shutting its doors on the 10th December 2007.
A big thank you to everyone who came and downloaded the music. It’s been the most positive thing we’ve done and we hope you shared the experience with others.
The discbox will still be available from the w.a.s.t.e store here until they have all gone. We then have no plans to make further stock.
For those of you who wish to buy In Rainbows in the usual way, it will be available on CD/Vinyl and download from traditional outlets from the 31st December 2007.
The record will be released by TBD Records in North America and XL Recordings for the rest of the world.
Thanks for everything.
No Radiohead – Thank you for everything. It was extremely fun while it lasted. But who exactly are those folk who would wish to purchase In Rainbows “the usual way”? Thom recently described the demographic of conventional buyers in an interview with De Pers:
“But if we only did the download, a lot of people weren’t able to hear the record. Period. People like my mother! People in Brazil, Argentina, Japan. Those people didn’t download because we couldn’t pull a multi-lingual site together!”
Well, that answers that. In other good news, my Discbox shipped a few days ago. The bad news is I wasn’t able to change my postal address in time for it to be delivered to my new joint, so it looks like Mother and Father will get to blow their collective minds with the bonus tracks on CD2 before I can. Or does it?
Having absolutely no hint of self-control, I downloaded the In Rainbows bonus CD in gorgeous (compared to 160 kbps) VBR for my own listening pleasure. I can justify it by saying I paid $92 AU for it to be delivered on or around December 3rd. To my old address. Shut up. “Last Flowers” is gorgeous.
arcade fire have announced sideshows you stupid CUNT.
Gunter,
You’re a douchebag.
What kind of a name is Gunter?
