Sounding like a lost gem that wouldn’t be too out of place if sandwiched between Oasis b-side classics like “Fade Away” and “(It’s Good) To Be Free” on the The Masterplan, “The Shock of the Lightning” is the surprisingly quite good/very rocking (read: shitloads better than “Lyla”) first single from the lads’ upcoming seventh record Dig Out Your Soul.

It’s good to see some things never change, like, well, Oasis for starters, and Noel’s not-so-subtle Fab Four lyrical reference points - “love is a litany/a magical mystery”. Whoteva. Make up yer own minds, yeah? D’you know whot I mean?
